fundraising is a bad word... right?

Since coming home, i have been trying to be a good girl about the whole "f" word issue. This is the area I've had the hardest time wrapping my head around. Asking people for money is hard. I don't want to hate it, but I kinda do. THEN today God gave me this awesome change of perspective! It's not meant to be about asking people for money, but more along the lines of an adoption. Instead of giving something away, accepting someone into your family by supporting then and praying for them! Woah, how could I hate adoption.

So, I'm beginning this process of finding 12 adoptive families, individuals, or small groups that would adopt me in. As an adoptive family I would love to become part of your family, to meet your kids, write to you guys, keep you updated on whats going on with the babycatchin. To pray for your family, and you for me. It would be a commitment to pay for one months staff fees ($385 AUD). I'm looking for 12 families as kinda a foundation. One family would be responsible for one month. At the beginning of every year, you could commit for another year, or not, up to you. As God has been developing this in my mind, I think He really wants to use it as an opportunity to excite young kids for missions work, give them an inside view about whats involved, and to teach them how to pray. I love this, I'd choose Adoption over fundraising any day. Tell me what you think!
